How To Save A Movie Maker Project As A Movie File
Today you are going to learn how to save a Windows Movie Maker project file as a movie once you are done making it. It is a very easy process but many people are unsure how to do this since it is kind of hidden away in the menus of Movie Maker.
1) Once you are done completing your movie maker project and ready to save it as a movie file to see it play and transfer it from one computer to another without having to bring along all the files. Saving the project file has many benefits and saves space on your computer. First you are going to have to go to the top left hand-side corner and click on file this should give you a drop down box of options.
2) Second you are going to look in the same drop down box of options that you opened in part one and look for an option called “Save Movie File” and then you are going to click it. This should open up the “Save Movie Wizard” and you are going to choose where you would like to have the movie location.
3) We are only going to focus on the option we us in school. The option that you are probably going to select “Save To My Computer”, it is the first option from the top in the “Save Movie Wizard” box of options.
4) After choosing “My Computer” you will then be prompted to choose a file name and choose a place where you want to save your file. First choose what you will call it then once you have chosen a file location (on default movie maker saves the file to “My Videos”) you can go ahead and click next.
5) If you have followed the steps completely so far you should now be prompted to choose the settings for your video. You can choose more choices to make the video to exact settings but I recommend going with “best quality for playback on my computer” and you can now click next.
6) This will bring up a status bar showing how much the video is completed. The time in which the video is completed depends on how large the video was the larger the file the longer it will take. Once the status bar reaches 100% you are done.
7) Now Movie Maker Will ask if you want to play back the movie you just made when you click finish. You can go ahead and click or unclick this option depending on if you want to watch it or not. I recommend watching it to see if you didn’t mess anything up.

Now that you know how to save a movie file from a “Movie Maker” project you can show all your friends and family you’re Videos. If you follow this tutorial correctly you shouldn’t run into any problems.
